We updated or Terms of service
“You are not allowed to create or have an account with iMumble if you reside in a country that prohibits end to end encryption or use it to communicate with people residing in a country that prohibits end to end encryption. Like for example Belgium.”
The reason for this update is the latest verdict against Microsoft Skype where the Belgian court effectively prohibits the use of end to end encryption by VoIP/messaging services. Even if our Free Mumble Servers do not use end to end encryption we are confronted with a very expensive legal risk if we want to offer services to Belgium.
This change will be implemented at once. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but as a donation based service we are simply unable to take the legal risk.
The updated Terms of Service can be found here.
